Our Mission

Our mission is to honor Ariana's memory, by encouraging young people to pursue their passions and invest in themselves...

Gone but not forgotten...

A beautiful girl - A beautiful dancer - A beautiful spirit

Ariana was an energetic, talented young woman who—despite difficult challenges and painful experiences in her life—remained dedicated to her passions and hobbies. She loved being outside in nature, working with children, doing competitive gymnastics, and dancing. Each year at John Jay High School, we award the Ariana Bedka Memorial Scholarship to one or more students. Through this scholarship, we hope to encourage students like Ariana to invest in their talents and remain involved in positive, constructive activities. There is no GPA requirement, but we ask applicants to submit their resume, recommendations, and a heartfelt essay about any significant obstacles they feel they've overcome in life so far.
